“I’m a water guy!” Michael Phelps breaks “unwritten” basketball rule and is hilariously mocked by Devin Booker

“I’m a water guy!” Michael Phelps breaks “unwritten” basketball rule and is hilariously mocked by Devin Booker

The recently concluded Olympic Games in Paris were a great opportunity for athletes from other sports to watch the USA men’s and women’s teams compete, attracting the best basketball players in the world and swimming greats, among others. Michael Phelps. Since athletes from other disciplines generally do not know the intricacies of the sport, Devin Bookerwho was sitting next to Phelps, decided to take advantage of this.

The video, shot on Devin Booker’s cell phone cam, shows him filming the most decorated Olympian as he watched the game intently. At one point, the ball came toward them. Phelps pushed the basketball back onto the court.

Don't do that. You were supposed to shoot that man.

Devin Booker told Michael Phelps

Phelps then asked: “Is that me?“When Booker reiterated that Phelps should shoot the ball and not pass, the swimmer had a hilarious response.

Stop. I don't know what I'm supposed to do with it. I’m a water guy, I don’t know what I’m supposed to do.

Michael Phelps replied

Michael Phelps knew something was going on, which is why he and the others around him were laughing too. The Phoenix Suns star was teasing the swimmer about this one unwritten rule. The unwritten rule states that if the ball goes out of bounds, the referees usually have to retrieve it. That means the crowd is not allowed to hand the ball directly to the players. The swimming legend didn’t know this. Booker took advantage of his ignorance and tried to trick Phelps.

But it shows that Devin Booker had no qualms about trolling, even though Phelps is one of the most successful athletes of all time. On the other hand, the 23-time gold medalist was a good athlete and took the trolling in his stride.

Devin Booker had a blast with Snoop Dogg and Tony Hawk

Before the women’s basketball game shown above, the Phoenix Suns star took a tour of the Olympic Village to watch the various sports activities. The skateboarding final caught his attention. When he arrived at the games, organizers asked him to go to the VIP area.

To his surprise Snoop Dogg was there to cheer on Team USA. While skateboard legend Tony Hawk was also there. Booker seemed to enjoy his time there. He joked with Dogg, chatted with Hawk and watched the participants perform their tricks.

Booker used his trusty Handy Cam to capture all of the footage, a device that has long since become obsolete since the development of camera technology and cell phones. But that didn’t stop the two-time Olympic gold medalist from capturing some of the best shots of the Paris Olympics.
