A woman who looks exactly like Emma Watson has revealed that she is constantly called “Hermione” while out and about.

Kari Whitmore, 34, comes from Indianapolis, USA, and has been causing a stir since the first cinema release of “Harry Potter” in 2001.

Kari works as a crew planner for an airline but now has more than 700,000 followers on TikTok. She told What’s The Jam: “I get comments like ‘You look like the girl from Harry Potter, what’s her name?’ or ‘Has anyone ever told you that you look like Emma Watson?’ (…) I’ve even had the comment ‘Don’t you have to make films?’ when I was in a previous job.

“I understand that at first glance I could be mistaken for Emma, ​​but I still see myself as myself. I think we are similar, but still uniquely different.”

Kari first noticed the resemblance at the age of eleven after watching “Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone”. She says: “When the first Harry Potter film came out, I hadn’t seen it yet. It wasn’t until I was stopped at a post office by a couple of young girls who pointed their fingers at me and called me ‘Hermione’.”

“I didn’t know what they were talking about, so I went home and looked it up. That’s when I learned that Hermione was a character in Harry Potter, played by Emma. As someone who always gets lost in a book, I started reading the Harry Potter series when I learned who Hermione was.”

Kari finds the comparison flattering. She said: “Being compared to Emma is flattering because she’s had an impressive career. She seems like a really cool person.”

Kari has become a real sensation online and at conventions, where she fully embraces her Hermione look with curls, robes and wand in hand. “I get a lot of comments and looks when I’m dressed as Hermione at a comic convention,” she explained.

“I remember going out to dinner with some friends after a long day at the conference and a woman came up to me and wanted to hug me because Hermione was her favorite character. I’ve also gotten free drinks on a pub crawl as part of a Harry Potter event.

“I think the reactions from kids are my favorite. I mostly cosplay for kids who absolutely love Hermione and it makes me smile knowing I’ve made their day. It’s just like when kids see their favorite superhero or Disney princess.”

Kari recently shared a photo of herself dressed as Hermione with her 44,800 followers on Instagram, who were all blown away by the resemblance. One user remarked: “Iconic. Is that Emma Watson dressing up herself?!” While another person commented: “This is the best Hermione cosplay ever.”
