With the upcoming Hulu series “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” the Mormon “momtok” has made its way from your phone to your TV.

The influencer moms took TikTok by storm in 2022 with their unconventional lifestyle while “breaking a norm” associated with their religious practices and gender roles. The group subsequently experienced a scandal when prominent member Taylor Frankie Pauk announced her divorce from then-husband Tate Paul, blaming “soft swinging” with close friends for the failure of her marriage.

“Nobody was innocent,” she said in the trailer for the upcoming series. “Everyone had something to do with everyone else.”

Many of their co-stars have since denied their involvement in the sex scandal that has called the group’s friendship into question. In the Hulu series, which premieres Friday, September 6, the aftermath of the drama will be revealed as the women’s friendships, marriages and faith are tested.

Taylor Frankie Paul

Paul, 30, was at the center of the drama when she announced her divorce and exposed the scandal. In July 2022, she announced her new relationship with Dakota Mortensen via a video of her and Mortensen dancing. Paul tagged her new man in the caption, writing, “I won’t share this.”

The scandal followed Paul until 2023, when she was arrested on suspicion of assault, criminal damage and domestic violence in the presence of a child following an argument with Mortensen. She pleaded guilty to aggravated assault while all other charges were dropped.

Demi Engemann

The self-proclaimed “CEO of Cool Mom” ​​has amassed over 300,000 followers on TikTok by sharing her life with husband Bret Engemann and their “patchwork family.” Demi, 30, was previously married and divorced at 24. She has three children with her current husband, 46, including two stepsons from his previous relationship and a daughter from her previous marriage.

“The journey to finding us has been anything but easy. But the peace I feel when I’m with this man makes it all so worthwhile. He feels like home,” she wrote in an introduction video on TikTok.

Jennifer Affleck

Affleck, 25, is a mother of two and has husband Zac Affleck (yes, he’s a cousin of Ben and Casey Affleck). She has over 1.4 million followers on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube, where she shares lifestyle and family content. A clip from the show’s trailer shows a tense conversation between the couple, in which Zac expresses his disapproval of the MomTok group.

“The group is really important to me,” Jennifer said, to which her husband replied, “Being divorced and taking care of two kids is going to be pretty tough, so make the decision.”

Jessi Ngatikaura

Ngatikaura, 32, is “the grandma of the group.” She is divorced and remarried and has three children with her husband Jordan Ngatikaura: Jagger, Jovi and stepdaughter Peyton. Jessi is a hairdresser and owns a salon, product brand and hairdressing school. In addition to lifestyle content, she also shares a lot of her professional life on her social media platforms.

Julia Taylor

Although she’s the youngest of the group, 23-year-old Taylor is a single mother of two. She shares “day in the life” vlogs with her sons and speaks openly about taboo topics like her plastic surgery and love life. She even names men on her list of men who will be “out” in 2024.

Neeley, 29, a former tennis star at Brigham Young University, has traded in her racquet for a pen and tells her life story on her personal blog.
