While the USA is looking for another gold, France will be fighting for its first gold. The French have never won an Olympic title in basketball, but Victor Wembanyama and the men’s team could end that drought on Saturday against the USA.
But regardless of the men’s result, the French women still have a chance to make history.
France’s only other appearance in an Olympic final was at the 2012 Games in London, where the Americans opened up a 36-point lead. So will the Americans easily win another gold medal? Or will the French end the 2024 Games with a major upset on home soil?
