After South Shore watched four opening games at the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, it’s time to get in on the action!
Manager Bob Laterza’s club, the Metro Region champion, opens the tournament on Thursday (August 15, 2024) at 3:00 p.m. ET against Mountain Region champion Nevada.
If you’re not one of the lucky fans who are in Williamsport, you can watch the game on ESPN. If you don’t have cable, you can watch it on fuboTV, which is aimed at sports fans. There are other ways to watch the games without cable (see below). FuboTV is currently offering a free trial, so it would be wise to give the streamer a try.
There are three more World Series games today that can also be seen on FuboTV. Those games are Japan vs. Puerto Rico at 1 p.m., Cuba vs. Euro-Africa at 5 p.m., and Southwest Region vs. Mid-Atlantic Region at 7 p.m.

South Shore enters today with a 17-2 record and will put top pitcher Stephen Grippo, a left-hander, on the mound. The Island team will most likely face Nevada’s top hitter Wyatt Erickson, who pitched a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts in the regional championship game.
South Shore has won District 24, Section 3 South, NYS and Metro Regional to get this far. It is trying to become the second Island team to ever win the World Series. Mid-Island did it 60 years ago in 1964. Laterza’s group is the seventh Island team to reach the World Series.

Little League has hosted the big event in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania, since 1947. This year, 20 teams – 10 from the U.S., including the South Shore Little League of Staten Island, and 10 international clubs – will compete for the overall crown on Sunday, August 25, 2024. The tournament began on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
