Hoda Kotb talks about Kelly Rowland’s exit from the Today show

Hoda Kotb talks about Kelly Rowland’s exit from the Today show

Hoda Kotb sent Kelly Rowland a message after she quit her co-hosting of NBC’s Today with Hoda & Jenna last week because her dressing room was apparently “not up to date.”

After the “Motivation” singer’s brief appearance during the station’s morning show at 8 a.m. to promote her new Netflix film, Mea CulpaRowland, 43, was set to host NBC’s 10-hour show alongside Kotb.

But according to PageSixSources said Rowland and her team “didn’t like the dressing room, so they decided to take her off the show, leaving (Kotb) without a guest host at 10 a.m.”

A week has passed since the alleged incident and Kotb has finally addressed the issue live.

“I just want to say this: I have great love and admiration for Kelly Rowland. I adore her and I want her to come back on our show and host again,” she said on Tuesday’s (February 20) episode of the talk show.

Her co-host Jenna Hager agreed, saying Rowland was “always welcome. She’s the best.”

“Of course she is, of course she is! She can share my dressing room with me. We’ll be in this together!” Kotb added, seemingly referring to the reported dressing room drama. “But anyway, I just want to say we love her. We’ve loved her for many, many years on this show.”

After Rowland’s last-minute exit, singer Rita Ora stepped in and joined Kotb.

Throughout the hour, Kotb and Ora repeatedly referred to the fact that Ora had only found out a few minutes before the broadcast that she would be stepping in.

Ora had originally been there to promote the upcoming season of The masked singer.

Last month, it was announced that the “Let You Love Me” singer would replace Nicole Scherzinger on the reality singing series’ judging panel. She will join recurring judges Robin Thicke, Ken Jeong and Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg.
