Here’s who’s speaking on day two of the DNC

President Biden has officially passed the baton to his Vice President Kamala Harris. His legacy was honored on the first day of the Democratic Party Convention in Chicago. From Tuesday onwards, the focus will be more on the future.

Convention organizers said they would highlight the differences between the vision of the Harris-Walz campaign and that of the Trump-Vance team. Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff is scheduled to speak, as are former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama.

We’ll update this page when the full schedule is released, but here are some highlights to look out for on Tuesday night:

Traditionally, there will also be a roll call at the convention – but this year it is even more symbolic than most. The delegates have already cast their votes for Vice President Harris as the party’s candidate.

The candidates are also taking their message beyond the convention hall on Tuesday. Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, will be in Milwaukee for an evening rally. Both Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump and vice presidential candidate JD Vance are holding press conferences about crime in Michigan and Wisconsin, respectively.

The main DNC program is expected to run from about 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. ET (5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. CT), but Monday night’s program went on much longer. Learn more about how to watch and follow updates here.
