Unleash the beast!

There’s just over a year left until JK Rowling’s Wizarding World returns to the big screen, and Muggles are already getting their first look at the next installment in the film this fall. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The early preview is provided by Weekly entertainment, In the new edition, star Eddie Redmayne can be seen in a cape and three-piece wool suit that, with any luck, will become as iconic as Harry Potter’s Hogwarts robe.

In Rowling’s narrative adaptation of her own handbook on the magical creatures within the successful book series from 2001, the Oscar-winning star of The discovery of infinity and a lively contender The Danish Girl plays Newt Scamander, a “magizoologist”. The film is set in New York in 1926, where Scamander, a frequent traveler, stops off to visit the Magical Congress of the United States of America. The MACUSA, as it is called, is the equivalent of the very powerful (and corruptible) Ministry of Magic in London.

The film will be directed by David Yates, who directed the last four potter films, is the first part of a planned trilogy. Together with Redmayne in Fantastic Beasts are Katherine Waterston, Colin Farrell, Ezra Miller, Samantha Morton, Alison Sudol and Dan Fogler. The magic comes to the big screen on November 18, 2016.
