Families commit themselves to each other, even when things get uncomfortable.

A sister’s well-intentioned intervention regarding her brother’s behavior toward his young housekeeper makes her wonder whether she has exceeded her authority.

Read on to find out the full story!

A housekeeper named Vivian lives in the house of my (42, female) brother (39, m).

I think the girl is 18 or 19.

In our country and especially in our city, there is a very high demand for domestic helpers, especially from the same region of our country as Vivian, because that is where they have the best food in the country.

She creates the right scene.

My brother got divorced a year ago and became very depressed, so I advised him to hire a housekeeper to help him manage his daily chores.

She also helps him by looking after his two daughters when he is at work and has custody of him.

I went shopping with my brother a few weeks ago and he brought back a box of chocolates and some flowers for Vivian.

He told me she was sick and I thought that was very sweet of him.

However, it seems that her brother may have ulterior motives.

However, my nieces (my brother’s daughters) told me that their father always hits on Vivian when she is working and buys her expensive gifts.

Then yesterday he made a casual comment about her body when she brought him a pair of feet on the table when I came to his house to have lunch with him.

She laughed embarrassedly and apologized.

I asked him what he was doing and basically he was attracted to her.

She asks her brother to do this.

I told him that his behavior toward her was inappropriate since he was her employer and if he couldn’t behave, he should let her go.

When he hired her, her agency said there were many other families who wanted her because of her resume, so she wouldn’t be left unemployed.

I told him she deserved a secure job.

Her brother takes it very personally.

He was very angry and said that I was treating him like a creep and that it was none of my business.

I left afterwards and he called me and demanded an apology.

I feel like I may have gone too far since he told me Vivian didn’t complain. I feel very bad now.

Is this possible?

It seems that she meant well and only wanted to protect her family and the housekeeper.

Redditors give their opinion.

Just because Vivian didn’t complain doesn’t mean she doesn’t feel uncomfortable.

The housekeeper is not the only one affected by this creepy behavior.

Even though the dynamic in her family might be strained for a while, Reddit believes confronting her brother was the right thing to do.

After all, impressionable young eyes are watching.
