“Harry Potter” star Oliver Phelps complains about identity confusion in reunion special

Harry Potter star Oliver Phelps has denounced an editing error in the highly anticipated 20th anniversary special in which he was confused with his brother James.

The twins play the red-haired pranksters Fred and George Weasley, who are notorious for their pranks and place swapping.

Phelps posted a screenshot of the error in HBO Max’s “Return To Hogwarts” on Instagram, noting that someone had finally “taken revenge” on the couple.

“I guess after all the pranks over the years, someone decided to get revenge,” he wrote under the photo.

“It was fantastic to be at the HP reunion. I hope you all enjoyed it. #ReturnToHogwarts.”

The special, which aired on New Year’s Day, saw former child stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson reunite with other members of the original cast to mark the 20th anniversary of the release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.

The author of the series, JK Rowling, also appeared in the reunion special, but only in archive video clips.

Fellow actor Matt Lewis, who played the hapless Neville Longbottom, commented on Phelps’ post, saying, “That’s really funny. Dude. What the hell? Haha.”

The error was reportedly corrected by the show’s editors.
