“Harry Potter” star Afshan Azad-Kazi has announced that she is pregnant with her second child.
The 36-year-old Manchester actress, who played Padma Patil in the hit wizarding film series based on JK Rowling’s books, shared her exciting news on Instagram.
She uploaded an adorable photo of her daughter Kyra placing her hands on her growing belly and asked her followers to “Pray for me and my family.”
Her former co-stars, friends and fans rushed to send her their congratulations in the comments section.
Evanna Lynch, who played Luna Lovegood, was one of the first to respond, writing, “Oh congratulations Afshan!”, while Scarlett Hefner, who played Slytherin student Pansy Parkinson, simply posted a white heart emoji.
Ginny Weasley actress Bonnie Wright told her, “Love you,” while Jessie Cave, who played Lavender Brown, posted a series of applause emojis.
After her Harry Potter career ended, Azad-Kazi guest hosted an episode of the CBBC series Marrying Mum & Dad in 2017 and has since made a name for herself as a beauty influencer.
She married her husband Nabil Kazi in an extravagant ceremony in 2018 and they had their first child together in 2021.
Reflecting on her time on Harry Potter, she told Deccan Chronicle, “It is a great honour that people still appreciate and recognise me as Padma.
“Being part of something so magical and successful has been the greatest blessing of my life. Harry Potter fans are the best fans; they are so loyal and always supportive of everything we do.”
