Harry Potter star admits she briefly forgot she was part of the Magical franchise

Harry Potter Star Evanna Lynch admits that she once forgot that she was actually part of the magical franchise. Starting with 2007 Harry Potter and the Order of the PhoenixLynch portrayed Luna Lovegood, the kind-hearted and quirky Ravenclaw who befriends Harry and supports him in his fight against Voldemort’s Death Eaters. Harry Potter The franchise ended in 2011, but the entire property stayed alive through a spin-off prequel series, several theme park experiences, a stage play, and an upcoming HBO show.




Lynch remains an active participant in the franchise and recently helped narrate the audiobook From the Wizard Archives. In an interview with CNET Through the project, the actress looked back on her time in the Harry Potter franchise and talked about how important it continues to be to her life. The wizarding world means so much to her that at one point she forgot that she played a crucial role in it. Lynch said:

I don’t watch the movies because they’re too emotional, but recently Prisoner of Azkaban came on and my partner and I started watching it passively. I had this strong feeling of “I want to be part of this world,” and then I realized, “Oh, I already am!” The fans have kept this world very much alive in my life. I continue to try to find that sense of belonging in other communities, but none have yet proven to be such a deep match. So yes, I will always be happy to be a familiar face in the Harry Potter world.

Since the formal end of the Harry Potter Franchise with The Deathly Hallows – Part Twohas developed its reputation due to the controversy surrounding author JK Rowling. Rowling has been criticized for views that many consider transphobic, to the point that some have called for an outright boycott of all things wizarding. Still, it remains an important part of pop culture, and that’s not going to change anytime soon, especially with HBO’s Harry Potter Show in which all seven books are adapted.

It is true that Warner Bros. has been kept alive by its eagerness to continue investing in the Wizarding World, as seen in its attempt to launch another film franchise with the Fantastic Beasts Movies. Lynch’s comments, however, address a larger reason for Harry Potterremains a popular work, and this goes beyond the fact that the films are often shown on television. Although Rowling has proven to be a polarizing figure, the world of Harry Potter has become a place of unity for fans.


The message of a young outsider finding his place in a magical world has long been appealing, and the themes of light and darkness have become even more relevant in recent years. Harry Potter is a franchise so imaginative that even one of its stars wished she could join in. Rowling’s views have scared some away, but it’s clear that the Boy Who Lived has a long future ahead of him, and Lynch will likely continue to be a part of it, even if she sometimes forgets it.
