Harry Potter: Exclusive look into the magic archive of magical knowledge (exclusive)

Did you know that Harry Potter’s grandfather Fleamont invented the hair potion that Hermione uses to tame her unruly curls for the Yule Ball? Goblet of Fire? What about the fact that Luna Lovegood was almost named Lily Moon? Have you ever wondered how the Marauders became Animagi?

Fans of JK Rowling’s magical mythology can find all this and more information on Audible’s brand new From the Wizard Archivewhich presents the extensive library of Pottermore knowledge in audio form for the very first time.

SYFY WIRE gives an exclusive insight into the project with an introductory video hosted by actress Evanna Lynch, who played the dreamy Ms. Lovegood in the hugely successful Harry potter film franchise (now streaming exclusively on Peacock). Lynch – serves as one of the most important Wizard Archive Voiceover alongside Hugh Quarshie, Finlay Robertson and Lara Sawalha. This is her second Potter-based collaboration with Audible following the company’s audio production of The Tales of Beedle the Bard.

“I think for anyone who wants to write fantasy or fiction, this archive is a real goldmine,” says the actress. “I’m working on a novel right now that, while not fantasy, still requires a lot of world-building… before you even start writing. And that’s the problem with fiction: It’s actually hard to know where to start and where to stop. Reading this book, it seems like JK Rowling faced the same dilemma and let her imagination run wild in many different directions, which ultimately served the story she was telling. I think that the extent of her research and notes can only offer comfort and inspiration to any fiction writer sitting at their desk deeply wondering what they’re doing with their real life. (They can learn) that there is actually a method behind the madness.”
