Harris County Football Media Day 2024

Harris County Football Media Day 2024

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WTVM) – The Harris County Tigers held their media day just seven days before their season opener on the road against an extremely impressive Manchester Blue Devils team.

A clash that Tigers head coach Tommy Watson called a “rivalry game” – and for good reason.

These are two very talented teams and this Manchester team was one win away from the state championship last season and will look to start the season with a big win.

I spoke with coach Watson, who is well aware of the challenge ahead, especially after the team lost many key players last season, which won 11 games.

Coach Watson said: “We’ve filled some of the gaps we think we’ve lost. The guys have gotten stronger. We’re big, we’re fast, we’re strong.”

Harris County senior receiver Ran Ogletree agreed, adding, “We made a lot of progress over the offseason, like he said. We lost a lot of guys, but we’re still getting guys coming in, younger guys coming in, we’ve got a lot of guys that are going to play this year, so we’re in for a big season.”

Another great season is expected from this Harris County Tigers team and it all starts with a big game against the Manchester Blue Devils on Friday night, August 16th.

The Tigers have their first home game the following Friday, the 23rd, against Troup County.
