For years there have been rumors that Valve is working hard on a version of Half-life to conclude the events of the last title. This is one of the most important franchises in video game history and its fans are always ready to delve into new theories.
After a week of revelations about this rumored project, it seems like the studio is continuing to work on it, or at least on an expansion of this universe. New information from a YouTube video and a datamine suggests that the studio is actively working on a new game in this series.
Could Valve be currently working on Half-Life 3?
One of the most recent major revelations and leaks allegedly came from a team that worked on Half-life 3which involved an actress who had this project listed on her resume.
She later removed it from her page, but the information had already gone viral. Now a YouTuber has discussed all of these details and how it seems to be developing into a project related to this IP. It seems that Valve might be interested in bringing this name back.
According to the YouTuber, the code name of the game is White sand has been under development for some time by the team that Alyx.
Despite the clear connection to this universe, the team has not officially labeled the new game as the third installment in the franchise.
Tyler McVicker (formerly of Valve News Network) claims that Project White Sands is Half-Life 3 and that it is related to the codename “HLX” found in datamined files in recent years.

There are no details about the plot of this project or whether Gordon Freeman is the protagonist. Although the probability of this game being released is low, fans do not hesitate to rekindle their enthusiasm.
It is also not confirmed that the game is specifically Half-life. It could be a completely new IP. Still, it gives fans some hope.
Will Gordon Freeman make a triumphant return?
On platforms like Reddit, many users have taken the opportunity to discuss this video and express their own opinion about the leaks and the possibility of Half-life 3 in the development.
Everything indicates that this new project will be part of the universe of the game, which can be played both cooperatively and in single player mode and, apparently, will only be available on PC.
