Good Tape launches new website and introduces Creative Studio

Ahead of the release of its second issue this fall, Good Tape, your favorite podcaster’s favorite magazine, has launched a new website to expand its online presence and unveiled its creative studio. Readers can also now pre-order “The Celebrity Issue,” featuring notable writers including Rolling Stone contributing editor Miles Klee, former Guardian feature reporter Elle Hunt, and music journalist Sowmya Krishnamurthy.

“With our second issue, the magazine has really found its feet, building on the smart and bold editorial stance we established with our debut,” says Alana Hope Levinson, editor-in-chief of Good Tape. “The celebrity theme inspired hundreds of proposals, and the careful compilation we ended up making acts as a rallying cry for the industry.”

Good Tape is also excited to announce Good Tape Studio, a studio that provides creative services to top producers, networks and brands in podcasting to realize their most ambitious visual goals. Led by Sami Wittwer and Dane Cardiel, Good Tape Studio was launched earlier this year and works with respected audio professionals such as Yowei Shaw and Mia Lobel, as well as industry leaders such as Sounds Profitable and Lower Street. Its services include podcast branding, pitch development and experience design.

“Print will continue to be a focus for Good Tape, but we believe expanding our reach digitally and offering our editorial and design capabilities as a service was a natural next step,” says Dane Cardiel, founder of Good Tape. “We look forward to starting new conversations with clients and invite readers of this press release to connect with us through our website.”

“The team at Good Tape Studio is great to work with and they consistently deliver excellent podcast graphics for our branded podcasts,” says Harry Morton, founder of Lower Street. “No matter the genre, style or content, they nail it. We tell stories with audio and they help us do the same visually.”

“I’m not a visually oriented person,” says Yowei Shaw, “but somehow Good Tape Studio managed to interpret my cloud of emotions and deliver images that perfectly match the playful, dreamy atmosphere of my show Proxy. I’m so happy with my podcast art that I could cry.”

Good Tape is a magazine and creative studio based in Los Angeles and Brooklyn. It aims to promote both cultural and critical coverage of the podcast industry, while bringing clients the best in design and creative practices.
