Good-Feel’s Goemon-inspired Switch game “Bakeru” is being localized

Last year, Yoshi and Kirby developer Good-Feel announced a new 3D action game for the Switch, officially titled Otogi Katsugeki Mameda no Bakeru: Oracle Saitarou no Sainan!! It’s been compared to the Goemon series, with Good-Feel being directed by Etsunobu Ebisu (a key figure behind Mystical Ninja).

Following the game’s release in Japan last November, a gaming site (simply titled Bakeru) has now been released for this title on Nintendo’s Australian website and the local eShop. It appears to be released locally on 3 September 2024 for 60.00 AUDwith a 10% pre-order discount – only $54.00.

The file size is only 3.1GBit is published by Spike Chunsoft and there is also a free demo in the eShopwhich is available for download now. Here is the official description from Nintendo’s site (which notes that some “additional features” have been added), along with some screenshots:

A secret treasure passed down by the Tanuki clan. It is said to be able to drive away evil spirits. Fight your way through enemies and traps with simple controls!

Transform yourself into fairy tale heroes!
By obtaining a Henge License, Bakeru can transform into whoever gave him the license. Transform into famous Japanese heroes like Kintaro and Momotaro to utilize their skills and abilities.
