The 31st The annual Goleta Lemon Festival, presented by Rusty’s Pizza, will be held Saturday, September 28th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, September 29th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Goleta Lemon Festival celebrates the history and role of lemon harvesting in the region’s history, dating back to 1875 when Sherman Patterson Stow of Rancho La Patera in Goleta established the first known commercial lemon orchard in California.

The Goleta Lemon Festival now attracts more than 40,000 residents, visitors, nonprofits and local leaders who celebrate the joys of the good land.

The festival is Goleta’s largest community event of the year and features approximately 80 booths featuring local nonprofits, arts and crafts, lemony food and drinks, and lemon-themed souvenirs.

Vendor applications are now open; visit LemonFestival.com/vendorapplications.

At the festival, the Community West Bank Food Court offers lemonade, lemon bars and Rusty’s Pizza. For alcoholic beverages, visitors can head to the signature Aviation Lemon Lounge, where they can get lemon beer, apple cider and local wines.

The American Riviera Bank main stage features live music from a variety of genres, including rock, country, blues and funk.

The headliner on stage on Saturday afternoon will be Area 51.

“The Goleta Lemon Festival is an opportunity to bring out the best in our community spirit and celebrate the glorious history of lemons in Goleta,” said Kristen Miller, President/CEO of the Santa Barbara South Coast Chamber of Commerce.

“We are excited to bring residents, businesses and visitors together for a weekend of fun, excitement and fantastic memories,” she said.

The Goleta Lemon Festival is a family-friendly event. An all-inclusive activity wristband is valid for endless rides and games like Archery Tag, inflatable bubbles and mini golf at the Santa Barbara Airport Kids Zone. Save $5 when you purchase an activity wristband in advance at LemonFestival.com.

The festival also features an interactive fire, police and emergency services display at Safety Street, presented by ExxonMobil. Visitors can get an up-close look at state-of-the-art emergency vehicles and technology and meet the Sheriff’s Mounted Enforcement Unit.

On Saturday only, the festival will host the 17th annual Goleta Fall Classic Car Show, presented by Ruth Ann Bowe Village Properties. You’ll see cool vintage cars from Corvettes and Camaros to trucks and pickups, as well as motorcycles and bicycles.

If you have a classic you’d like to attend, registration is now open at LemonFestival.com/goleta-fall-classic.

New this year is the Point Market Community Stage, featuring entertainment and performances by local troupes, groups and organizations. The Polar Seltzer Cool Down Zone has also been added, and attendees can ride their bikes to the festival and park at Rad Power Bikes Bike Valet.

The festival would not be possible without volunteers ages 14 and up who spend time planning the festival and helping out on weekends. Visit LemonFestival.com to sign up.
