Gillian McKeith in talks for her comeback on “I’m a Celebrity”

Gillian McKeith is in talks to take part in “I’m a Celebrity: All Stars”.

The 62-year-old presenter, who took part in the 2010 season of ITV’s jungle reality show, became a memorable campmate when she appeared to faint live on air. Bosses are reportedly keen to sign her up for the spin-off series, which is due to start filming in South Africa later this year.

A source said: “Gillian’s performance in 2010 was nothing short of legendary. She was at the top of the hit list when producers decided to do the best-of series the following year.”

The former You Are What You Eat host, who has been voted to take part in seven consecutive trials and is known for smuggling salt into camp in her knickers, is said to be “all but confirmed” to appear on the show, with the source insisting she will be “television gold”.

The source told The Sun newspaper’s TV Biz column: “She’s all but confirmed now. Talks are ongoing and well advanced but everyone is confident she will sign her contract in the next few months and head to South Africa to film. This is going to be TV gold.”

I’m a Celebrity: All Stars is set to be pre-recorded in summer 2022 but will air on ITV next year. Other names reportedly signed up for the series include Stacey Solomon, who appeared as Queen of the Jungle and Loose Women star in 2010, and Caitlyn Jenner, former Keeping Up with the Kardashians star who finished sixth in 2019.

Rumours have it that 2008 contestant David van Day, known for his relationship with model Nicola McLean, will also take part.
