Bell, who juggles a job in cybersecurity with her athletics career, had already achieved heroics this summer, taking silver in the 1500m at the European Athletics Championships in Rome in June, but she went one better with a brilliant Olympic bronze medal in Paris on Saturday.

Having won the 2023 World Duathlon title while representing the British age group team in Ibiza, Bell has seen her sporting performance go from strength to strength ever since, signing a professional contract with Nike earlier this year.
Her spectacular performance on Saturday night in Paris was truly brilliant as she beat Kenya’s Faith Kipyegon (new Olympic record of 3:51.29) and Australia’s Jessica Hull (3:52.56) to the finish. She was just a touch away from silver – just 0.05 seconds behind Hull at the finish, having clocked 3:52.61.
Before Saturday’s race, Georgia summed up her incredible journey in a heartfelt post on her Instagram account.
She wrote: “30 years ago I was born in Paris. Tonight I’m racing in the Olympic final again. It’s been an unusual journey full of ups and downs.”
“Between quitting and starting again, working full-time and only making a breakthrough this year, the chances were so slim.
“The fact that I’m here really makes me feel like this is how it’s meant to be and that my whole life has been leading up to this moment.”
