FUN AT THE BROWN COUNTY FAIR | News, Sports, Jobs







Medallions are awarded to Cloverbuds who performed best in interviews in which a 4-H leader interviewed them about animals and their care.

The Brown County Historical Society opened the one-room schoolhouse on the fairgrounds over the weekend. Hundreds of fair visitors were able to get to know the traditional form of school. Evangeline Scharf dressed in old-fashioned clothing on Saturday and practiced writing with chalk on a slate.

Sheldon Rieke, a member of the Optimist Club, regrets that the organization has sold out of its cheese curds. The Optimist Club had half a ton of cheese curds with them at the beginning of the fair, but by Sunday afternoon it was all sold out.

During Alpensterne’s performance before the wood carving auction, the band sang Happy Birthday to Candice Stadick (seated on a bench). Stadick was the board secretary of the Brown County Fair and celebrated her birthday this week.

Three seniors are honored for their contributions to 4-H as they begin a new chapter in their lives.
