FSU kicker Ryan Fitzgerald scores 59-yard field goal to tie the score at halftime

Ryan Fitzgerald seems to have some “Irish luck” and the Florida State football team is certainly happy to benefit from it.

After Florida State fell behind 14-11 to Georgia Tech in the final seconds of the first half in the Aer Lingus College Football Classic in Dublin on Saturday, it appeared the team would go into halftime trailing.

That was until Fitzgerald, who was fighting to keep his spot on the roster two years ago, showed his leg when he made a new career-high 59 yards to tie the game and cap a back-and-forth first half between both ACC programs. His previous career-high was 53 yards in 2021. Fitzgerald also made a 52-yard field goal earlier in the half.
