The 52-year-old head waiter from “First Dates” travelled to the Australian jungle last year for the cult ITV show. Although he sees it as the pinnacle of the genre, he has not ruled out future appearances on reality TV.

When asked if he would do another reality show, he told OK! magazine: “‘I’m a Celeb’ is the ultimate, you are put under extreme pressure – for example eating animal anuses – and sharing a cup with strangers.”

“But my motto is ‘never say never’. I like challenges.”

Fred attracted attention in the jungle for several reasons, including his striking physique, which he had worked hard to maintain during his stay Down Under.

He explained: “In the jungle, I had my routine of at least 20 minutes of exercise.

“A doctor was on site and at one point he said to me, ‘Fred, you need to slow down. You’re not eating enough to sustain this and we’re worried.’

“But I assured him that I was fine. And when I came for a check-up after leaving the jungle, I had lost just over 5 kg, which was less than they expected.

“That’s because I maintained my strength and kept my muscles active.”

Fred was recently on the road with his “Road Trip” co-star Gino D’Acampo to work on their new travel show “Emission Impossible,” in which they try to “be as eco-friendly as possible so as not to pollute the planet.”

He admitted that working on the project was “fantastic,” but because of their friendship, having previously traveled the world with Gordon Ramsay, it was a wild experience.

He said: “It’s (amazing), but we can get a little crazy sometimes.

“We have known each other for a long time and very well.

“We start finishing each other’s sentences and when he wakes up in the morning I can tell what mood he’s in. We’re a bit like a married couple.”
