Four Browns players who will start after the warm-up game against the Vikings

Four Browns players who will start after the warm-up game against the Vikings

The Cleveland Browns have just completed their second preseason game. In this game they lost to the Minnesota Vikings with a final score of 27-12.

While it would have been nice to win, the Browns were unable to use any of their key players. They decided to play it safe and prepare for their final dress rehearsal next week against the Seattle Seahawks.

Yesterday’s game was about letting the young players and the reserves fight for their jobs and there were a handful of players who made the most of their opportunity.

Let’s take a look at four players whose reputation is rising rapidly for Cleveland after the loss to the Vikings.

Devin Bush, Linebacker

For the second week in a row, Bush proved he still has the talent to be a starting linebacker, making five tackles and flying all over the field.

At this point, Bush was one of the best players on the roster in the preseason. He’s almost guaranteed to be on the roster.

Chris Williams, Defensive Tackle

On the defensive line, Chris Williams has developed into a player who clearly deserves his place in the squad. He once again delivered a good performance against Minnesota.

Williams had two sacks in the game and has shown himself to be a potential role player, and if he puts in another strong performance next week against the Seahawks, it’s almost certain he’ll make the 53-man roster.

Zaire Mitchell-Paden, tight end

On the offensive side of the football, the Browns have to be happy with the performance of their rookie tight end Zaire Mitchell-Paden.

He ended up catching four passes for 59 yards, making him the team’s best receiver in the game. Cleveland could keep him as a backup behind David Njoku. Mitchell-Paden will have to impress again next week, but he has put his name on the list of possible candidates for a roster spot.

Jeremiah Martin, defensive end

Finally, another defensive player made a big contribution against the Vikings. Martin also had a sack and three tackles.

Martin had to fight hard to earn a spot on the roster, but he made the Browns’ decision difficult. If he can play in a big game again next week, there’s a chance he could make the 53-man roster.
