Fortnite just released a new free skin in Chapter 5 Season 4, but players aren’t too happy with the way to obtain it.

Fortnite offers a huge selection of skins and cosmetic items, whether from a crossover or an original concept from the game. While many of these usually have to be purchased in the item shop, there are occasional freebies that anyone can get by completing missions.

Now, in Chapter 5 Season 4, players finally have a chance to grab the new Katalina skin for free. For the uninitiated, the only way to get this skin right now is by completing Fortnite missions from iOS and Android.

Moreover, the iOS platform is currently limited to the EU only. Due to all these requirements to get the free skin and other rewards, the community has gathered in a Reddit thread to express their frustration.

The Katalina skin can be unlocked by completing Fortnite mobile quests.

“I can’t even get the free skin because I live in the UK and we’re not even in the European Union,” said one user. Another user, meanwhile, claimed this was “pretty much a slap in the face” from Epic to players who dare “own an iOS device outside of the EU.”

“I’ve been waiting for the Katalina skin since it leaked and now I can’t get it for free because there’s no iPhone,” commented another user.

One person chimed in: “I am a player from the Middle East and I actually find this extremely unfair.”

Many other players also expressed their disappointment and anger in the comments, especially because not only does Fortnite not run well on their phones, but also because playing via cloud services does not count towards these quests.

One user wrote: “Yeah the only thing is Fortnite sucks on Android, it sucks, I can barely get 30 frames per second even though I have a crappy flagship tablet, STW, Fortnite Festival and Rocket Racing are unplayable, BR and ZB are at a disadvantage. It’s just another fucking lame mobile port.”

However, there is a workaround to get this free skin regardless of your device, and many players recommend taking advantage of this before it is patched for those who are having trouble getting it.
