After Fortnite developer Epic Games previously announced a partnership with Disney, the company took the stage at D23 to announce a brand new season of Fortnite.

The new season, Chapter 5, Season 4, subtitled “Absolute Doom,” is all about Marvel and includes the introduction of Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom.

Players can become heroes and fight against Doom and his minions, or team up with the evil doctor for some mischievous fun.

This season will also feature Marvel-themed weapons, including Captain America’s shield and War Machine’s arsenal.

In addition to the seasonal theme, Chapter 5, Season 4 will include a Marvel-themed Battle Pass where players can unlock the following seven skins:

  • Gwenpool (unlocked immediately!)
  • War machine
  • Peelverine
  • Emma Frost
  • Captain Jonesy
  • Mysterio
  • Shuri

A Doctor Doom skin can be unlocked later in the season via Battle Pass quests. Additionally, a Sabertooth Meowscles skin and a Fishpool skin are available for purchase.

In addition to all the Marvel stuff coming to Fortnite, Epic and Disney have also announced a ton of skins from Disney, Pixar, and Star Wars.

The Disney skins are all villains, including Cruella de Vil, Captain Hook, and Maleficent, and will all be available in fall 2024.

Pixar’s skins instead focus on The Incredibles, with Mr. Incredible, Elastigirl, and Frozone coming to Fortnite as new skins this fall.

Finally, Epic is bringing more Star Wars cosmetics to Fortnite, including two Mandalorian skins – IG-11 and Moff Gideon – and a Grogu back bling, releasing on August 12, 2024.

Fortnite fans were able to grab free Disney cosmetics during the live stream crossover, but don’t worry if you missed it because the event is still running in-game.

The news comes after a major change to Fortnite cosmetics, with Epic announcing that it would bring Battle Pass items to the Fortnite store for at least 18 months after the Battle Pass ends.

It also happened after an embarrassing mess in the item shop where Fortnite players were able to get their hands on an extremely rare skin and then get their money back – but luckily they were allowed to keep the skin.
