Former Delaware County official faces additional charges after allegations from second victim

New charges are being filed against former Delaware County Sheriff Tim Boyce after a second victim came forward accusing him of indecent assault and harassment.

Boyce, who served as the county’s emergency services director, was accused of kissing and groping a co-worker earlier this year.

The allegations led to charges from the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office for sexual assault, simple assault and harassment. The Attorney General’s Office told FOX 29 on Wednesday that Boyce was charged with sexual assault and harassment after a second victim came forward.

Attorney Mark Schwartz, the first victim’s lawyer, said his client quit her job the next day and texted Boyce to express her displeasure. Boyce reportedly admitted to the incident during the text message exchange. Boyce was arraigned and his bail was set at $50,000.

A 67-year-old woman who has worked for the district since 1974 had previously accused Boyce of age discrimination, which resulted in fewer hours and no pay raise. A criminal complaint states that Boyce “exhibited a known penchant for attracting young women.”

Boyce, who had headed Delaware County’s emergency services department since 2016, was fired days after the allegations came to light. Schwartz has since vowed to “hold DELCO accountable for allowing the well-connected Mr. Boyce to hide in plain sight.”
