“Fonseca doesn’t let up”, Milan shows “very good signs” against Monza

In Tuesday’s Silvio Berlusconi Cup match, AC Milan beat Monza 3-1 at San Siro. We can take some positives from this game as the Serie A season begins soon.

With pre-season now complete, Milan have a game to look forward to on Saturday, and you get the feeling that’s exactly what the fans will be looking forward to.

As the Gazzetta dello Sport (see below) writes, the Rossoneri have had a fantastic pre-season, winning four of their five games – the other was a draw against Rapid Vienna. There is a lot to be positive about and their recent performance was another example of that.

Paulo Fonseca joined Milanello less than two months ago, but his football is already implementedwhich is very welcome, especially considering that it corresponds to what the Diavolo expected from their next head coach, and what The Portuguese coach promised.

Two lineups were used for Tuesday’s match, with Fonseca making changes at half-time. The Rossoneri dominated the game – a pleasing fact – and the “Fonseca effort” was clearly evident.

Alexis Saelemaekers, Noah Okafor and Alvaro Morata all showed positive signs that could be transferred to the rest of the team. Gazzetta concludes by noting that “the first games showed very good signs in general” but the real test will be on Saturday in Turin, where “the engine revs will increase”.
