Foerner and Kretche named to D2Football.com’s Elite 100 Watch List – Minnesota State University

MANKATO, Minnesota — Seniors of the State of Minnesota Marshall Foerner And Maven Kretche were named to D2Football.com’s Elite 100 Watchlist.

The D2Football.com Elite 100 Watch List was compiled by the D2Football.com staff with input from numerous current head coaches as well as experienced professional football scouting expert Josh Buchanan. The players listed in this publication represent the official watch list for the D2Football.com 2024 Elite 100 Team, which will be announced at the end of the season.

An offensive lineman from Plano, Illinois, Marshall Foerner was named to the Elite 100 First Team Offense after playing in all 12 games last season, including 11 starts. Foerner was named to the All-NSIC First Team and D2CCA All-Super Region Four Second Team as he helped the Mavericks rush for 2,548 yards and 28 touchdowns. Foerner has played in 33 games in his three seasons with the Mavericks, including 29 starts.

A defensive player from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Maven Kretche started all 12 games for the Mavericks last season and led the team in tackles for loss with 13 and sacks with 10.5. He was named to the All-NSIC First Team before being named to the AFCA All-American Second Team. Kretche played in 35 games in his three seasons with the Mavericks, recording 26 tackles for loss and 17 sacks.

Minnesota State opens its season on Thursday, August 29th with a trip to Maryville, Missouri to face Northwest Missouri State with kickoff scheduled for 6 p.m. at Bearcat Stadium.
