“The Radleys are an ordinary family with a dark secret… they are teetotal vampires,” says the film’s official synopsis.

“As if teenage life wasn’t bad enough, bloodthirsty instincts take over the family’s teenagers, bringing the horrific truth to light and opening the door for another family member to come back and turn the Radleys’ once-perfect slice of suburbia upside down.”

The creepy trailer shows Macdonald’s character Helen and her husband Peter (Damien Lewis) trying to appear “normal” in their everyday lives.

When their children begin to show unusual symptoms, Helen and Peter explain to them that they are vampires.

“Is that a metaphor?” asks her son Rowan (Harry Baxendale), to which Peter explicitly replies: “It’s a simple biological truth.”

“It makes you vulnerable to certain cravings,” Helen adds, staring hungrily at a red milkshake spilled on the floor.

As the family tries to suppress their bloodlust, Peter’s brother Will, a practicing vampire, arrives to clean up the recent murder of their daughter Clara (Bo Bragason).

“Drinking blood is pure bliss,” he admits, before the family’s life is turned upside down by their increasing thirst for blood.
