Post Malone has always been open about his personal problems, but in a recent interview with CBS Sunday MorningThe multi-platinum singer revealed how much fatherhood has changed him.

Speaking about the influence of his daughter, whose name he keeps secret, Post said, “I’ve written a whole bunch of songs (about her).” The proud father reflected on how fatherhood “changes lives in the best way ever.”

He also took a moment to thank the mother of his child and said: “The best thing is, she has a wonderful mom.”

In the candid conversation, Posty thanked both his daughter and her mother for saving his life during a dark time.

“Four years ago I was on a difficult path,” he admitted. “It was horrible… getting up, crying, drinking and then going on with your life, and then when you lie down, drinking some more and crying some more.”

Now that those difficult days are behind him, Post expressed his gratitude for the trip, noting, “I don’t feel that way anymore, and that’s the most amazing thing.”

The interview comes as Post prepares for the release of his latest album. F-1 billionis scheduled for release on August 16th. The album marks a new direction for the artist, with a clear country influence, and includes collaborations with country icons such as Chris Stapleton and Dolly Parton.

On July 26, Malone released “Guy for That” featuring Luke Combs, which was preceded by “I Had Some Help” featuring Morgan Wallen (which reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100) and “Pour Me a Drink” featuring Blake Shelton.

Fans can also look forward to the music video for “Guy for That,” a project Post mentioned in his interview.

With fatherhood at the forefront of both his life and his music, Post Malone’s latest chapter seems to be marked by new clarity and purpose.

Malone has continued to climb the Billboard charts. His latest album, Twelve carat toothachedebuted at number 2 on the Billboard 200, with hit singles such as “One Right Now” featuring The Weeknd, which peaked at number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100.
