Celebrity Race Across the World returned to screens on Wednesday, with a new crop of famous faces taking on the grueling task.

Among them was model and actress Kelly Brook, 44, who took on the challenge together with her husband Jeremy Parisi, 39.

The show pits teams of celebrities against each other in a race through a specific region of the world. The winner is the one who reaches their destination the fastest, using any mode of transport except airplanes.

The four new famous faces embarking on the epic 12,500km race of a lifetime include radio presenter Jeff Brazier and his son Freddy, actor Kola Bokinni and his cousin Mary Ellen, Radio 2 presenter Scott Mills and his husband (then fiancé) Sam, and radio presenter Brook and her husband.

Their journey began on Wednesday in Belém in northern Brazil – the gateway to the Amazon – and during the show they will pass through five checkpoints across South America to reach the finish line in the Andes, Frutillar in southern Chile.

Viewers who watched the first episode of the series soon criticized Brook for “not letting Jeremy have his say” while they planned their trip.

Many were distracted by the “interruptions” and attacked the TV star on social media.

It has been suggested that the Heart Radio presenter has a different attitude towards her husband as she wants to experience new things while Jeremy’s eyes are on the goal.

Shortly after the episode began, social media users complained to X about Brook

One wrote: “What the hell, did Kelly Brook let her husband finish a sentence yet? I’ve never heard anyone interrupt so much. She just talks for the sake of talking and wants everything her way.”

Another posted a snap of his grumpy looking cat and wrote: “(My cat’s face) as Kelly Brook interrupts her husband for the 110th time.”

“Kelly needs to get used to competing in a race but Jeremy seems to be in race mode so hopefully she’ll catch on quickly #RaceAcrossTheWorld,” another shared.

“Oh my god Kelly Brooke doesn’t quite understand the point of #raceacrosstheworld,” argued another.

Others jumped to Brook’s defense, however, with one adding: “I don’t know what you’re all complaining about. Kelly Brook actually seems harmless and really sweet and she and her husband finished first on this stage anyway so it was so unfortunate #raceacrosstheworld.”

“Kelly Brook and her husband are hilarious #CelebrityRaceAcrossTheWorld,” commented another.

In a teaser for the next episode, Brook is seen unhappy because her husband is apparently trying to save money. In one clip, she is seen giving Jeremy a dressing down about the “cheap” room he found.

In the preview clip, she fumed, saying the decision had made her “miserable.” She said: “You have a nice, cheap room and an unhappy wife – so well done!”

Elsewhere in the clip, she can be seen commenting: “This is going to be brutal!”

Before the series began, Brook told the BBC: “I think Jeremy and I were looking for a new adventure to do together and we love to travel.”

“And it felt like a dream to arrive at the airport and not know where you’re going. It’s like a dream to go to the airport, get a plane ticket and just go.”
