Famke Janssen joins Boy Kills World

Famke Janssen has joined Sam Raimi’s “Boy Kills World.”

The “96 Hours” actress is expected to appear in the action thriller alongside “Stranger Things” actors Brett Gelman, Sharlto Copley and Quinn Copeland.

According to Deadline, “Big Little Lies” stars and twins Cameron and Nicholas Crovetti have also joined the cast.

German filmmaker Moritz Mohr makes his directorial debut with the film, which is set in the reality of a dystopian fever dream.

In October, it was announced that Bill Skarsgard would lead the main cast of the film, which also stars Samara Weaving and martial arts expert Yayan Ruhian.

Skarsgard was cast as protagonist Boy, a deaf-mute with a vivid imagination. After his family is murdered, he flees into the jungle and is trained by a mysterious shaman to suppress his childish imagination and become an instrument of death.

Weaving will play the assassin on June 27, while Ruhian will appear as Boys Mentor.

The screenplay for the film, which is set to be shot in South Africa, was written by Arend Remmers and Tyler Burton Smith, while Nancy Nayor is in charge of casting.

Producer Alex Lebovici said, “Boy Kills World is rich with unique and exciting characters. The cast we’ve assembled is a tremendous mix of talent that is perfect for the roles they’ve taken on.”

“We look forward to working with them and bringing this story to life.”

Raimi recently said, “I’m thrilled to be working with Roy Lee again on Moritz Mohr’s ‘Boy Kills World.’ Moritz has a brilliant sense of action, humor and world-building, and I can’t wait to show it to the world.”

“We are delighted to be working with Nthibah and Hammerstone to bring Moritz’s unique film to life.”
