Everything viral TikTok food critic Keith Lee ate on his restaurant tour of the DMV

Famous social media influencer and food critic Keith Lee was on a tour of the Washington DC area last week, stopping at several restaurants as part of his introduction to the food scene.

He visited a number of restaurants in Maryland, Virginia, and DC — even as far away as Baltimore — but his only criticism was that many DC-area restaurants serve more alcohol than food. DC is known for its unlimited brunches and happy hours, so his opinion is no surprise.

Here is a list of the places Keith Lee went and what he got from the menu:

Keith Lee’s first stop was the Okonomi Asian Grill, also known as “Asian Chipotle,” in Fairfax County, Virginia. The family-owned restaurant was recently the victim of a DoorDash scam and was offering a reward to catch the suspect.

He ordered the Hawaiian-inspired chicken bowl, the lemongrass chicken bowl, cucumber kimchi, pineapple fish sauce and bang bang sauce.

FLAVOR HIVE FOOD TRUCK – 5249 Duke Street in Alexandria, Virginia (rear)

While Flavor Hive is known for its Bangladeshi cuisine, Keith Lee has tried out the South Asian food truck for a current offering. For $10, you can BYOC, or Bring Your Own chips, and order the toppings to go with it—like a walking taco.

He tried the gyros meat, the chicken and the beef with other vegetables and sauces as toppings.

CANE–403 H St NE in Washington DC

The street food restaurant Cane on Caribbean Street was the third stop on his tour.

While he was there, he tried peas and rice, jerk chicken wings, eggplant cake, and a whole snapper.

Keith Lee went to Dukem Ethiopian after the owner’s daughter posted a video about the difficulties of owning a restaurant in this economy. While other DC metro area residents had already shown their support for her, he tried a number of dishes including beef ribs, lamb, raw beef, fish, sambusa and vegetables. He said this was the best food he’s had in DC.

HONG KONG DELITE CARRYOUT —3123 Martin Luther King Jr Ave SE in Washington, DC

Fans told Keith Lee that if he didn’t get good takeout, his trip to DC wouldn’t have been worth it.

So Keith tried the fried rice and mumbo sauce-drenched chicken wings from Hong Kong Delite Carryout.

His version of Mumbo sauce tastes like old-fashioned McDonald’s sweet and sour sauce mixed with ketchup.

Smile and dream –2653 Connecticut Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008

Keith Lee stopped by Tyra Banks’ pop-up ice cream shop, Smize and Dream, in the Northwest.

He tried vanilla, lemon, berries and shortbread as well as candy bacon.

Although it’s not in the DMV, Keith Lee also stopped by Rooted Rotisserie in Baltimore, Maryland.

At every place he visited, Keith Lee left a generous tip and paid for other customers’ meals.
