Some BIG changes are coming to Disney World theme parks. We’re on the Disney Experiences panel at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event and we just got some great news about Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Magic Kingdom will receive its biggest expansion yet. Additionally, Dinoland, USA in Disney’s Animal Kingdom is set to be redesigned into the Tropical Americas. Disney previously mentioned that it has plans for the land that could include: Magical And Indiana Jones in the area. And now Disney has confirmed that The dinosaur ride at Animal Kingdom is getting a new Indiana Jones theme!
That’s right, folks – it’s OFFICIAL. An Indiana Jones-themed attraction will open in the new Tropical Americas area, Pueblo Esperanza, replacing the existing dinosaur ride in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
We admit that we are not to surprised by this news. Dinosaur is already very similar to the Indiana Jones Adventure ride at Disneyland, as they both use the same ride system, so this redesign seems like a sensible change.
There will be an Indiana Jones attraction in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. While there is already an Indiana Jones attraction at Disneyland, this attraction in Animal Kingdom will have a completely new story. It will not be a copy of the Disneyland attraction and promises to be unlike any other Indiana Jones experience in the world.
This new Indiana Jones ride takes place in a perfectly preserved Mayan temple. Of course, Indy wants to see it for himself and takes us along!
This new area will begin The groundbreaking will take place THIS fall, the opening is planned for 2027. We also learned the official name of the new Tropical Americas area. It will be called Pueblo Esperanza and will be an 11-hectare section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom. This area will not only feature Indiana Jones and Beautiful, but it will also house one of the largest fast food restaurants in Disney World.

If you’re a huge dinosaur fan, you’ll want to get to Disney World sooner rather than later for one last ride and “get the dino.” Don’t forget to say goodbye to Dr. Grant Seeker, too.
