Euphoric scenes at the US Open as Lorenzo Musetti takes off his shirt and shows off his killer abs after an epic 5-set victory

There is the superhero ending we have all been waiting for in US Open. Fighting through the difficult conditions, Lorenzo Musetti won the second round of the event with flying colors. The Italian, who arrived in New York with an Olympic bronze medal under his belt, had something to prove. And lo and behold, he did just that, earning an enthusiastic reaction from the crowd at Flushing Meadows.

Musetti survived a moment of shock late at night during the hardcourt slam and showed his athletic skills against Miomir Kecmanovic. After falling behind in the first set, the Italian talent took the next two sets. But Kecmanovic was not finished yet. The Serb leveled the match by winning the fourth set and forcing the duo into a deciding set. Despite much resistance and the impressive performance of the young talent, Musetti overcame the former’s challenge with his superior experience and ended the action-packed contest with a five-set score of 3-6, 6-4, 6-4, 2-6, 7-5. When the victory bells rang, the number 18 made the most of it.

Musetti ended the duel in dramatic fashion by removing his shirt in front of the New York crowd. After giving his opponent and the referee the customary handshake, the Italian sighed with relief as he marched across the court, removing his Nike clothing.

Musetti then moved into the third round, where he will try to achieve similar results in the hope of going far in the hard court event.
