Epic Voyages gets improved Wi-Fi on Princess Cruises

Princess Cruises announced new MedallionNet Maxits powerful onboard Wi-Fi service, scheduled to debut on August 31, 2025, will be available to enhance travelers’ connectivity across the four Epic Voyages categories during the 2025-2026 cruises.

“Today, travelers are increasingly interested in longer, more intense experiences, often in remote or popular destinations, without wanting to separate themselves from their digital lives,” said Terry Thornton, Chief Commercial Officer of Princess Cruises.

MedallionNet Max will be available on Princess Cruises’ 2026 world cruises, which will cover up to 35,000 nautical miles in 26 legs. These cruises will take place on the 3,080-passenger Crown Princessthe 1,970-guest Coral Princessand the 2,200 passenger Island Princess.

With cruises lasting up to 116 days and visiting more distant destinations, including calls in Africa and Australia, MedallionNet Max hopes to accommodate guests who need to work from home and stay connected.

In addition, the service is offered on the cruise line’s Journeys Far & Away voyages, which last between 11 and 33 days. These itineraries on seven ships, including Discovery Princess And Emerald Princesstargets remote destinations such as Antarctica, Greenland and the South Pacific where Wi-Fi connectivity may be limited.

Immersive itineraries lasting 17 to 31 days in areas such as Alaska, the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, as well as Ocean Crossings’ 13 to 24-day transatlantic and transpacific itineraries, also benefit from MedallionNet Max.

The immersive journeys take place on 11 Princess Cruises ships, including the new Sphere-class ships such as Sun Princess and the brand new 175,500 gross ton ship Star Princess, premiering in September 2025. Nine ships, including Caribbean Princess And Royal Princess, will travel across the oceans on 26 different routes.

New satellite technology will improve travel in 2025-2026

First introduced in 2018, MedallionNet uses a combination of medium and geostationary Earth orbit satellites. It can achieve download speeds of over 100 Mbps and upload speeds of over 60 Mbps, setting a new benchmark with a bandwidth of 2.25 gigabits per second. Royal princess.

MedallionNet Max is available in the Princess Plus and Princess Premier PackagesThe Princess Plus package costs $60 per day and also includes unlimited drinks, casual dining, desserts, complimentary room service, fitness classes and crew gratuities.

For those seeking a more luxurious experience, the Princess Premier package is available for $80 per day, which expands on the Princess Plus offering. Additionally, this package includes premium beverages, specialty foods, and additional perks such as spa discounts and exclusive events.

Guests on Princess’ standard vacation package will still have the option to purchase MedallionNet Classic for $24.99 per day for a single device or $44.99 per day for multiple devices.

MedallionNet Max will not only be offered on longer voyages. The enhanced service will be available across Princess Cruises’ fleet of 16 ships on all sailings during the 2025-2026 winter season and beyond.
