With Fortnite Season 4 starting in less than 24 hours, another downtime is coming. Starting Thursday at 11:00 p.m. Eastern Time, the servers will be down for an extended period of time and the game will be unavailable for a few hours. Thankfully, Epic Games has revealed how long the downtime is expected to last, and here’s everything you need to know about it.

How long will the next Fortnite downtime be?

The next Fortnite downtime begins Thursday night in the US and Friday in Europe, Asia, and many other regions. Then we’ll get an Absolute Doom season update that brings with it many popular Marvel characters. In addition, the season brings map changes, new items, and much more content.

On Epic’s server status page, the company revealed that the upcoming downtime is expected to last five hours. Considering how large the update will be, that’s not too bad. According to the Fortnite developer, servers are expected to be back up at 8 a.m. UTC, which is 4 a.m. Eastern Time. For more information, visit the Epic Games Public Status website.

It’s important to note that this is just an estimate. Epic has been wrong in the past, with some downtimes lasting either longer or shorter than predicted. However, if everything goes to plan, Fortnite servers should not be down for more than five or six hours. The update for the new season will be released shortly after the downtime begins.
