Emma Watson’s body double reveals that the star didn’t even appear in the big Harry Potter scene

Flick Miles, Emma Watson’s Harry Potter double, has revealed which important scene she was chosen for after the young actor suffered an allergic reaction.

Since Watson was a child in at least half of the franchise’s films, the production hired a body double who could share half of the workday to ensure filming could be completed as quickly as possible.

In a video for the BBC, Miles revealed behind-the-scenes secrets, explaining that she often filled in for Watson’s “long-distance” and “over-the-shoulder” shots.

Miles clarified that under British employment law, actors under the age of 16 are only allowed to work on set for four hours a day.

“The biggest scene I was involved in was when Hermione turns into a cat in (Harry Potter and the) Chamber of Secrets”, she said.

“Emma had a slight reaction to the glue they used to apply the makeup, so they asked me to do that part.

“So if you see Hermione as a cat in Chamber of Secretsthat’s actually me.”

At just 10 years old, Watson was the youngest of the three main actors when she played the role of nerdy know-it-all Hermione Granger in Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stonewhile Daniel Radcliffe was 11 and Rupert Grint was 12.

It’s been over a decade since the eighth and final Harry Potter film, based on the popular book series by JK Rowling, was released in 2011.

Last month, Warner Bros. announced it would adapt the cult films into a “ten-year-long” television series.

Although the cast is completely new, it was promised that it would be “a faithful adaptation of the popular Harry Potter book series”.

Rowling serves as executive producer of the series to “ensure it stays true to its source material.”
