Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have “built a special life” together.
The 66-year-old comedian has been married to 51-year-old model Portia since 2008. As she embarks on one final tour before retiring, an insider claims the celebrity couple have transformed their California home into a “magical” abode.
A source told People, “They live in Montecito full time and love it. Ellen is currently on the road for a stand-up special. She canceled a few dates in July… She’s excited though. She plans for this to be her last comedy tour. She’s talking about retiring.
“They have created a special life in Montecito. It is truly a magical place. Portia even has an entire equestrian facility on her property. It is no exaggeration to say that Portia is obsessed with her horses. It is her life’s passion.”
The television star, who ended her eponymous talk show series in 2002 after nearly two decades on the air, has hinted that she will retire from show business after “Ellen’s Last Stand… Up Tour” hits Netflix later in 2024 and is followed by her latest stand-up gig.
When asked where fans could see her next, she told the audience at her show in Santa Rosa, California, “Um, no.
“This is the last time you’ll see me. I’m done after my Netflix special.”
She continued, “Thank you for still being interested in me! Let me tell you what’s happened to me since you last saw me. I have chickens.”
In April, the Finding Nemo star claimed she had temporarily become the “most hated person in America” ​​after being accused of bullying staff on the set of her show.
After the final episode aired, she withdrew from the spotlight, but returned to the public eye in April with her stand-up show at Largo in Los Angeles, California.
Ellen told the audience, “I was thrown out of show business. There are no mean people in show business… (I became) the most hated person in America… The hate lasted a long time and I tried to avoid the news.”
