Pour a glass of wine for the final contestant from Florida on season 21 of The Bachelorette, who was left roseless in last night’s episode.

Still anchored in New Zealand, this week’s episode gave Bachelor Nation everything — heartwarming dates for Florida-native leading lady Jenn Tran, heartbreaking eliminations, and an extra helping of classic reality TV drama (yes, Sam M. and Devin are still arguing).

Just a month ago, 25 men declared in the first episode that they wanted to win Jenn’s heart and hand. After the fifth episode, there are only seven applicants left in ABC’s successful reality show.

Here you can find out what you missed last night in the 5th episode of “The Bachelorette”, how many men are left and who went home.

Who went home in week 5 of The Bachelorette?

Episode five was a bloodbath of eliminations, with two rose ceremonies in the two-hour episode. Here are the three men Jenn sent home, including the final contestant from Florida:

  • Dylan, 24, medical student from Elk Grove, California
  • John, 25, medical student from Delray Beach, Florida
  • Thomas N., 31, retirement advisor from Tucker, Georgia

The episode also featured a self-eliminator – Austin, a 28-year-old sales manager from San Diego, California. And if it counts, Jenn decided not to let her ex-boyfriend Matt Rossi participate in the competition.

What happened in the last episode of The Bachelorette? Who got a one-on-one date?

Last night’s episode of The Bachelorette began with a dramatic rose ceremony. Last week’s episode ended with a cliffhanger. Jenn’s ex-boyfriend Matt paid for his own flight to New Zealand and asked if he could be on the show.

And even though Jenn said she and Matt had a great connection, she refused his request to join the other men and he went home.

“Matt told me today that he’s in love with me, and I’ve never heard that before,” Jenn told the remaining men. “When I heard it from him, it was all the right things, but said by the wrong man. When I look around this room, I know the right man is here… My future is in this room. My man is in this room.”

After Jenn’s ex left, the rose ceremony went on as usual and Jenn sent three men home, including the last Florida man left on the show, John from Delray Beach.

The first one-on-one date of the episode went to Jonathan, who got to hop in a helicopter with Jenn for a bird’s eye view of Auckland. In classic Bachelor fashion, the helicopter landed next to a vineyard (during golden hour) and the two had a picture-perfect date that looked like it was shot straight out of a Hallmark movie.

Jonathan and Jenn both did cartwheels, played hide-and-seek among the vines, and took a dip in a hot tub overlooking the vineyard at sunset. At their dinner, Jonathan, much like the other men before him this season, told Jenn about a relationship that hurt him and changed his perspective on love.

As Jenn gave him the rose and the kiss, it started to rain – and just like the scene in The Notebook, the passion continued even in the rain. The producers couldn’t have thought of a more perfect ending.

The group date was far less romantic. Jenn took seven of the men to a farm to cut dingle berries from sheep’s skins and help with farm work. The title of “best farmer of the day” went to Devin, who got to spend more time with Jenn.

Some of the men were upset with Devin (again) for gaining the extra time with Jenn, saying he wasn’t particularly involved in the date’s activities and was instead too focused on stealing time with Jenn.

“Me and the other guys are shoveling shit, and when we look up, we see that Devin has taken our girlfriend away from us,” Sam M. tells the camera. “I’ve learned not to be surprised. I think that’s a huge sign of disrespect and I don’t think that’s a trait that Jenn is really looking for… But I really don’t care. Lions don’t care about the opinion of sheep.”

The cocktail reception after the date was a little more somber than their time at the farm. Austin sent himself home, saying he didn’t feel like he had the same connection with Jenn as the other men because they had spent less time together.

His departure made Jenn question whether she was good enough for the remaining men, and they took turns reassuring her that they were all there for her – “the good, the bad, and the ugly,” as Sam M. put it.

The second one-on-one date went to Grant. He and Jenn went horseback riding along the beach and were also romantically caught in the rain. During their post-ride picnic, they had to open an umbrella to stay (somewhat dry) while kissing in front of a giant rainbow over the beach.

At their dinner, Grant told Jenn about his father’s drug addiction and how it had affected his childhood. She told him about racism and gaslighting in one of her previous relationships.

“For Grant and I to have such an emotional conversation and talk about really difficult topics. For Grant to understand where I come from – that feels like a real partnership,” Jenn said to the camera.

The episode ended as it began: with a rose ceremony. This time, Dylan went home.

Who is still on “The Bachelorette” after the fourth night?

There are officially less than 10 men left!

Here are the seven men still in the running after the fifth episode of the season:

  • Devin, 28, owner of a trucking company from Houston, Texas
  • Grant, 30, a day trader from Houston, Texas
  • Jeremy, 29, a real estate investor from New York, New York
  • Jonathon, 27, Creative Director from Los Angeles, California
  • Marcus, 31, an Army Ranger veteran from Raleigh, North Carolina
  • Sam M., 27, contractor from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
  • Spencer, 30, a pet portrait entrepreneur from Dallas, Texas

When are the home dates of “The Bachelorette”?

We’re almost at the point in the season where the main character travels across the country to visit the families of the final four contestants.

These episodes, known as “Hometown Dates,” have become iconic because they’re equal parts heartwarming and chaotic. Think of it this way: Former lead Charity Lawson meets the family of her soon-to-be fiancé Dotun Olubeko when his parents surprised him, and “Pilot Pete” Weber doesn’t even meet contestant Victoria Fuller’s family because they were arguing outside her house.

Jenn’s hometown details will be revealed in episode seven, which airs Monday, August 19.
