Eight people were killed and 30 injured in Russian attacks on Ukraine over the past day, regional authorities said on August 11.
Russia has targeted a total of 11 Ukrainian regions: Chernihiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Luhansk, Sumy, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Zaporizhia, Mykolaiv, Kherson, Kharkiv and Donetsk. Casualties have been reported in the last seven regions.
Russian forces launched a long-lasting drone attack on Ukraine on the night of August 11. About ten Shahed drones were shot down over Kyiv, the Kyiv city military administration said.
According to local authorities, Russia also fired Iskander-M and North Korean KN-23 ballistic missiles, which were shot down in Kyiv Oblast.
Rocket fragments fell on residential buildings in Kyiv OblastThe Ukrainian Emergency Service said the bodies of a 35-year-old man and his 4-year-old son were found under the rubble during search and rescue operations in Brovary district.
Three people were also injured in the attack, including a 13-year-old.
In Kharkiv OblastDuring a Russian attack on the village of Zolochiv on the evening of August 10, the local House of Children and Youth Creativity was damaged, reported Governor Oleh Syniehubov.
A Russian missile hit the two-story administration building and caused a fire on the roof, he said.
An 87-year-old man was killed in a Russian attack on the village of Lisova Stinka near Kupiansk, Syniehubov said.
Russian first-person view (FPV) drones attacked the village of Dniprovske in Mykolaiv OblastA house and a car were damaged, said Governor Vitalii Kim. Two men were injured, he added.
Later on August 10, Russian forces shelled the town of Ochakiv in the region, wounding four people – two women aged 70 and 73 and two men aged 44 and 69. One woman was hospitalized, Kim said.
Seven houses and a power line were damaged in the attack. The fires caused by the attack have been extinguished, the governor said.
Russian troops also attacked Kramatorsk, Hrodivka and Stinky. Donetsk Oblastsaid Governor Vadym Filashkin, with three people killed last day and three more injured.
In another attack on the city of Kramatorsk on the morning of August 11, four people were injured, the governor said. An infrastructure facility was hit, he said.
In Zaporizhia OblastRussian forces attacked Polohy district, killing a 68-year-old man and injuring a 63-year-old woman, Governor Ivan Fedorov reported.
Russian troops attacked the city Kherson with drones, injuring ten people, including a 15-year-old boy, said Roman Mrochko, head of the city’s military administration. One person was killed and another injured in the region last day, said Governor Oleksandr Prokudin.
A total of 34 explosions were recorded in Sumy Oblastlocal authorities said. Two people were injured by Russian attacks, the Ukrainian National Police reported.
