DVIDS – News – Fort McCoy’s 2024 Retiree Appreciation Day will be held on September 6

Fort McCoy will host its 2024 Retiree Appreciation Day (RAD) on September 6 from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Building 905, where retired military members can share their experiences and learn more about their accomplishments.

The first part of this year’s event is a prayer breakfast that begins at 7:30 a.m., said Nicholas Gimson, Fort McCoy’s retirement services officer with the Directorate of Personnel. Retired Army Command Sgt. Maj. Rufus M. Parker will be the prayer breakfast’s keynote speaker.

Following the breakfast, speakers will also be welcomed by Fort McCoy Garrison Leadership and receive briefings from several agencies including the Fort McCoy Retirement Services Office, a representative from TriCare, a Transitional Assistance Advisor, Military One Source, a representative from the county Veterans Service Office and many others.

“This event is open to all retired military personnel, those transitioning into retirement, and their spouses,” Gimson said.

Gimson asks people to register for Retiree Appreciation Day by August 30 at https://einvitations.afit.edu/inv/index.cfm?i=854374&k=0A64460A7C53.

The ultimate goal of a Retiree Appreciation Day is to bring military retirees together and give them the opportunity to receive the most up-to-date information about the benefits they are eligible for through a seminar, Gimson said.

Participation in the 2023 Fort McCoy Retiree Appreciation Day is free.
