duke Outfielder Devin Obee has officially entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to Pete Nakos of On3.

Kendall Rogers of D1Baseball reported in July that Obee would enter the transfer portal after completing his summer courses and graduating. The outfielder has now made his departure from the Duke program official in August.

Obee had his breakout year last season, his third year with the Blue Devils. He started all 60 games in center field, where he posted a .309 batting average with 67 hits, 57 runs, 50 RBIs, 11 doubles, two triples and 16 home runs (one inside the park).

He was especially strong in the postseason, where he was named the ACC Tournament’s Most Valuable Player after Duke won the ACC Tournament championship. He recorded seven hits, eight RBIs and three home runs in the Blue Devils’ four straight wins en route to the title.

Obee is 6’2″ and weighs 215 pounds. He is also known for his outstanding physical attributes. He is a workout warrior who has hit 400-foot home runs and was named an All-American by the National Strength and Conditioning Association in July.

“Obee is one of the best athletes at Duke in all of sports,” said Dan Perlmutter, Duke Director of Sports Performance. “He possesses outstanding speed, power, strength and athleticism and has worked incredibly hard to develop and utilize those traits to become a dominant power hitter and center fielder. Devin makes highlight plays on the field look effortless and moves super-heavy weights with blistering speed in the weight room. He brings a calm and powerful combination of humility and energy to his training.”

Before becoming a team captain at Duke, Obee played baseball at Ensworth High School in Nashville, Tennessee, where he was ranked the No. 7 player in Tennessee and the No. 225 player overall in the country for the 2022 recruiting class, according to Perfect Game.

Overall, Obee has played in 147 games with 98 starts in his career at Duke, posting a .269 batting average, .540 slugging percentage and .361 on-base percentage. Now he will join a new program that has 101 hits, 88 runs and 25 home runs in his college career.
