Dregs One’s History of the Bay Day returns to San Francisco; full lineup announced

If you attended the History of the Bay Day in San Francisco last year, you already know. The event was organized by Lakeview rapper Dregs One, host of the History of the bay Podcast, the daytime party brought a who’s who of regional hip-hop legends and a completely full house.

This year will be no different, based on the lineup. The event will take place on October 19th and will include a reunion of Jacka group Mob Figaz as well as a special tribute to the Jacka. Kamaiyah is also on the bill, along with Oakland ambassadors Souls of Mischief, who toured the globe last year to celebrate the anniversary of. ’93 To Infinity. B-Legit, Dru Down, DaBoii and Dregs One himself also perform.

For some real Bay history, a rare appearance by Demons of the Mind leads a dance cypher with Turf Feinz and Floor Gangz. There’s a skate photo gallery organized by FTC Skateboarding and a graffiti gallery put together by Dying Breed SF.

Since this is Frisco, the event will present the first Lifetime Achievement Award to Fillmore icon Rappin’ 4-Tay, whose recent cancer diagnosis has reminded people not to take Bay Area legends for granted.

There will be DJ sets, Bay Area memorabilia, a women in hip hop panel moderated by KQED Arts & Culture’s Nastia Voynovskaya and more throughout the event. Read our coverage of last year’s event here.
