Dragon Racing shows Potter how it’s done

Dragon Racing shows Potter how it’s done

Forget Quidditch, folks, dragon racing is what all the cool kids do these days.

The young Vikings of Berk have grown up and tamed their dragons, and now they’ve turned their skills into a sport that involves fire-breathing and… er… live sheep. Why not?

In this new clip from DreamWorks’ upcoming sequel, How to Train Your Dragon 2, Astrid (America Ferrera) shows off her superior skills on the playing field as she and her dragon Stormfly spectacularly steal the super-valuable Black Sheep – a textbook example of the Golden Snitch, only bigger – and win the race.

Beat that, Potter.

But it’s not all fun and games when we return to Berk this summer. Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) and Toothless may have brought harmony to their primitive community, but trouble is brewing when marauding English-accented dragon hunters begin exploring the Nordic seas.

Oh, and Hiccup’s long-lost mother Valka (voice: Cate Blanchett), the dragon whisperer, is back on the scene. Stoick the Vast (Gerard Butler) will surely be happy about that.

(Editor’s note: We’re fairly certain that no sheep or dragons were harmed in the making of this film.)

“How to Train Your Dragon 2” will be in theaters on July 4, 2014.
