Dragon Age Inquisition contains one of the most captivating RPG stories
In Dragon Age Inquisitionyou play as your own character who finds himself at the center of a world on the brink of destruction. You must navigate difficult political situations, fight against savage demons and close the massive gap in the sky before it swallows everything in its path. It’s up to you and your ragtag team of heroes to save the day.
I loved the story of Dragon Age Inquisition and I personally think it has the best plot of all. Dragon Age games so far. I felt that it was filled with many exciting moments, brought some of the most iconic characters from previous Dragon Age games, and my jaw dropped several times.
Dragon Age Inquisition is lengthy but offers a below-average character editor
Dragon Age Inquisition takes a good 100 hours to complete, especially if you’re a completionist like me. However, if you just want to complete the main story, expect it to take around 50 hours. Although you have to put in a lot of hours, it never feels exhausting or tedious. In fact, I wished it was longer and there was more to do.
The character editor has a lot of options, but I feel like it’s missing something. Although I was happy with how my character looked, it took a lot of work to get it. The game seems to have a noticeable problem with hair, it all just looks sad and needs a serious rework. Give me more options, BioWare!
The combat in Dragon Age Inquisition is the best of the best
The fight is flawless in my eyes and although it is not very popular with die-hard Dragon Age Origins Fans, I personally think that Dragon Age Inquisition The combat is currently the pinnacle of the series. It’s stylish, all the special moves look awesome, and the attacks on your enemies have a force that makes for addictive combos and impressive magical battles. I wouldn’t change a thing.
I played most of the Dragon Age Inquisition as an archer. Usually archer classes are neglected and their movements are rather monotonous like in Dragon’s Dogma or Skyrim. However, I think Dragon Age Inquisition managed to knock it out of the park. I never got bored or wanted to change my class. I had plenty of special moves to work with and it was fun to zip around the battlefield firing arrows at every opportunity.
Dragon Age Inquisition Trophy Tactics
The trophies in Dragon Age Inquisition will require a lot of planning before you get started. To earn the platinum trophy, you’ll need to complete the entire game on Nightmare difficulty. This will take a lot of practice and patience, but it’s totally doable. I should know, I deserve it.
The beginning of the game is hard, but once you level up, the Nightmare difficulty really loosens up and becomes much easier to complete. You’ll need to keep an eye on the nine trophies that you can miss. As long as you make sure you grab them and stick to the Nightmare difficulty, the platinum is in your hands.
The open world of Dragon Age Inquisition is an absolute pleasure to explore
There is so much to do and see in Dragon Age Inquisitionit’s actually quite overwhelming at first. The starting area is huge and offers so much content to see. But don’t be like me and over-indulge. The starting area offers some of the hardest fights and missions in the game and you will be significantly under-leveled the first time you encounter it.
My advice to new players is to leave this area as soon as possible and come back later. This has increased my enjoyment of the game tremendously and has allowed me to level up and progress much easier. BioWare probably designed it this way to get players to leave the area and explore the rest of the game. And that’s pretty clever, I must say.
One of the best side activities the game offers is the many different Fade Rifts that have opened up due to the giant rift in the sky. These rifts act like mini waves of enemies that you must defeat in order to close the Fade Rift. Since the combat in Dragon Age Inquisition is so delicious that it’s understandable why completing them is so addictive, and there’s a sense of satisfaction when you manage to close one of those cracks for good.
Dragon Age Inquisition’s romance is top notch
The characters of Dragon Age Inquisition are all fantastic, with so much depth and story to discover. I enjoyed switching between them for each new mission, which allowed me to get to know them all on a deeper level. I identified with Dorian the most, though.
His story and journey really touched me – his problems with his father, his sexuality and trying to find his place in the world. It was all beautifully told and made me appreciate Dorian. On top of that, the love scenes with him were fantastic and helped round off his story with a nice little flourish.
Summary
Dragon Age Inquisition is one of the best RPGs money can buy. It’s packed with a gripping storyline, an immersive world to explore, and some of the greatest companions the series has ever seen. While there are a few pitfalls – like the lack of a character editor – that keep it from a perfect score, there isn’t a world I wouldn’t recommend Dragon Age Inquisition to everyone I know.
