Dr. Angela Hsu and Kerry Kelly will serve as co-chairs of a fundraiser with proceeds benefiting the Jodi House Brain Injury Support Center.

The event is titled “An Evening Exploring the Jodi House at MOXI” and will take place on October 23rd from 5:30pm to 7:30pm at MOXI, the Wolf Museum of Exploration + Innovation.

Now in its third year, “An Evening to Explore Jodi House” at MOXI is a cocktail party and fundraiser to benefit programs for survivors of acquired brain injury.

Dr. Hsu, a pediatrician and pediatric intensivist, is a member of the Jodi House Board and former chief of pediatrics at Cottage Children’s Medical Center.

Previously, she was medical director of the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) and Pediatric Sedation Center at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Dr. Hsu currently works for the Santa Barbara County Health Department. Dr. Hsu is involved with the Women’s Fund of Santa Barbara and is a graduate of the Katherine Harvey Fellows leadership program sponsored by Leading from Within.

Kelly is a board member of Jodi House and a former educator who has taught in high schools and colleges. She is the past president of the Santa Barbara Chapter of the National Charity League. As chapter president, she led approximately 300 members in virtually redesigning chapter operations at the start of the pandemic.

Adriana Mezic, president of the Jodi House Board of Directors, will serve as vice chair of the event after serving as co-chair for the past two years. She holds degrees in nursing and health education.

Participants of the benefit event can look forward to appetizers from Catering Connection and free wine from Margerum Wine Company. Guitarist Chris Fossek will provide musical accompaniment for the event.

The evening will include a short program in which a member of Jodi House will share his or her personal story of recovery from brain injury.
