DNC Day 4: Kamala Harris accepts presidential nomination on the last day of the Democratic Convention

Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to accept her party’s nomination for president on Thursday. Democratic National Convention is coming to an end.

Harris’ speech follows that of her Vice President, Governor of Minnesota, Tim Walz, formally accepted the party’s nomination elected Vice President. In the evening’s keynote speech, Walz introduced himself on the national stage and talked about his time in the National Guard, his work as a teacher and coach in a public school, and his 12 years in Congress, emphasizing the importance of simply being a good neighbor.

The delegates also heard from former President Bill Clinton and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, along with a number of Democrats in Congress and other elected officials from across the country. And a handful of celebrities – including Oprah Winfrey – has appeared.

On the third night of the convention, Americans also spoke on a range of issues, from abortion to LGBTQ rights, arguing for freedoms they believe would be protected under a Harris-Waltz administration.
