District council takes action regarding planning commission

The Bond County Board met Tuesday evening and passed a resolution regarding the county’s membership in the Southwestern Illinois Metropolitan and Regional Planning Commission.

The county recently received a bill for its fees after not receiving a bill from the commission for several years.

The resolution states that the county will not provide funds for payments to the commission for the years 2015 through 2023. For the years 2024 and 2025, the county will provide funds, and participation thereafter will be determined based on the panel’s assessment of the economic benefits the county receives from the commission’s activities and efforts.

The board voted to accept the donation of two lots at Keyesport Landing.

Permission was granted to use the courthouse lawn for the Apple Day Festival on October 5th.

Jeremiah Campbell was appointed to the Bon County 911 Emergency Services Board of Directors for a term ending January 1, 2025.

Ron Shevlin was reappointed to the Bond County Board of Review for a two-year term.
